The first week and a half of school has gone so fast! We've had a great start to this year!

Our class has been busy organizing their own classroom library. We finished most of it on Friday. The students and I first sorted all of the class books into fiction and nonfiction categories. After we completed that task, they helped sort them into sub-categories. We put alike books into book tubs and labeled them, such as "weather", "animal characters", "people and places", etc.  They each got to color a label for the book tubs. This has been a great activity for them so they can all the books we have in our classroom, as well as to take ownership of the class library!

We have delved into our math curriculum with place value; that can be a challenging math concept.  The students have been working on their writing packet. I have been reading Arthur books to the class, while the students have been been doing related Arthur activities.  We dove into our science book this week and will continue to more on several lessons next week.

We were quite the busy class! Just to let you know, school pictures will be on Thursday, Sept. 8th. Forms should be going home soon!
